MIZ LELA'S BABY

"Miz Lela's Baby" is special. It came about as a response to a piece called "Beulah's Baby" showing a girl and child, both black, but the piece wasn't created by a black artist. Someone challenged me to do my own version.  Here it is!

Now, you look at this piece and see the boy and think that the woman is Miz Lela.  In fact, my wife and my youngest son posed for this piece, and my wife's mother was named Lela.  So the WOMAN in this piece is the one who is Miz Lela's baby, not the boy!
